Bayer Appoints Guru Ramamurthy As CFO Of Crop Science Division, Effective July 2025

Bayer has announced that Guru Ramamurthy will become its Crop Science division's new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective July 1, 2025. He will succeed Oliver Rittgen, who is leaving Bayer after a 25-year tenure to pursue new opportunities. Ramamurthy currently serves as CFO of Bayer US and brings over two decades of experience with the company.

I am looking forward to working with him to shape the future success of our business,” said Rodrigo Santos, Member of the Board of Bayer AG and President of the company's Crop Science Division.

Since joining Bayer in 2001, Ramamurthy has held multiple finance leadership roles across various business units and regions, including positions in Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States. He has served as Global CFO for Bayer’s Medical Care division and CFO of AskBio, Bayer’s gene therapy subsidiary. His extensive background includes transformation leadership and a strong track record of business growth.

Ramamurthy will be based in St. Louis, Missouri in his new role. A successor for his current position as CFO of Bayer US will be announced later. Meanwhile, Oliver Rittgen concludes a distinguished career at Bayer, having held senior financial roles in the Consumer Health and Crop Science divisions and international finance positions across Europe and Asia.
