AiM Medical Robotics Appoints Andrew Aberdale As President And CFO To Lead Commercial Expansion

AiM Medical Robotics, a developer of advanced robotic systems for MRI-guided neurosurgery, has appointed Andrew "Andy" Aberdale as its new President and Chief Financial Officer. Aberdale joins the company's executive leadership team as AiM continues to advance its compact, MRI-compatible robotic stereotactic neurosurgery system toward regulatory submission and commercial development. His appointment comes at an important stage in the company's growth as it prepares to transition from research and development to commercialization.

Aberdale brings more than 30 years of operational and financial leadership experience, with a strong track record of helping early-stage companies grow into successful commercial businesses. Throughout his career, he has led organizations through commercialization, managed high-value corporate transactions, and supported rapid business expansion. His experience is expected to strengthen AiM's leadership team as the company prepares to introduce its robotic neurosurgery platform to the market.

Gregory Fischer, Ph.D., Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AiM Medical Robotics, welcomed Aberdale to the company, stating that his experience in scaling technology businesses and working across both public and private capital markets makes him well suited for the company's next phase of development. Fischer said Aberdale's leadership will play an important role in executing AiM's commercial strategy, expanding its network of strategic partnerships, and supporting collaborations, including the company's recent partnership with Siemens Healthineers.

For the past two decades, Aberdale has focused exclusively on supporting entrepreneurial ventures, helping early-stage startups move from development to commercialization. AiM Medical Robotics becomes the seventh startup company in his career. During this time, he has successfully guided two companies to public listings on the NASDAQ and New York Stock Exchange through both traditional initial public offerings and SPAC transactions. He has also overseen the successful sale of four other companies to strategic industry buyers and private equity firms.

Aberdale has also built a reputation for using innovative non-dilutive financing strategies to support business growth while preserving shareholder value. Among his notable achievements are scaling a startup entirely through debt financing before achieving a $260 million acquisition in just 26 months and securing more than $750 million in domestic and international grant funding for a single venture. His expertise in capital strategy is expected to support AiM's continued expansion as it advances its medical robotics platform.

Commenting on his appointment, Aberdale said AiM's robotic technology has the potential to significantly improve the standard of care in neurosurgery by making complex brain procedures faster, safer, and more precise. He expressed enthusiasm about working with Founder and CEO Gregory Fischer, the company's Board of Directors, and the broader AiM team. Aberdale added that his priorities will include strengthening the company's operational and financial foundation, executing long-term capital strategies, and advancing the strategic initiatives needed to bring AiM's innovative robotic system to hospitals and patients around the world.
