Alps Group Inc, a fully integrated biotechnology research and healthcare platform focused on predictive, preventive, and precision medicine, has announced the appointment of Cheing Lye-Ping (Penny) as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective January 5, 2026. In her new role, Ms. Cheing will lead the development of the company’s financial strategy, ensuring that financial planning aligns with Alps Group’s long-term business goals. Her responsibilities will include investment strategy development, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, auditing, tax compliance, risk management, accounting, and treasury operations across the company and its subsidiaries.
Ms. Cheing brings more than three decades of experience in finance and accounting, having held senior leadership positions in both publicly listed and private organizations across several industries. From 2014 to 2025, she served as CFO of a property development company overseeing an integrated mixed-use development project located in the city center. Before that, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Premier Asia Capital Sdn. Bhd. between 2009 and 2013, where she directed investment strategies and managed a portfolio of investments and joint ventures.
From 2003 to 2008, she led the corporate affairs department at Equine Capital Berhad, a property development firm listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. Her responsibilities in that role included financial reporting, corporate governance, corporate finance, investor relations, and risk management. Earlier in her career, she spent seven years with the audit division of Arthur Andersen & Co, working with clients across manufacturing, aviation, logistics, and service industries.
Ms. Cheing holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from RMIT University and a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University in Australia. She is a Chartered Accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a Fellow of CPA Australia.
Dr. Tham Seng Kong, Chief Executive Officer of Alps Group, welcomed her appointment, noting that her strong background in finance, accounting, taxation, and capital markets will add significant value as the company enters a new phase of development. He emphasized that her expertise will support the business as it prepares for continued growth and innovation.
Sharing her thoughts on joining the company, Ms. Cheing expressed her enthusiasm for stepping into the role at such a pivotal time.
