With ANV200 advancing toward IND-enabling studies, Anaveon has elevated Laetitia Pouzol, PharmD, Ph.D., from Head of Immunology to Chief Scientific Officer, placing translational research leadership at the center of its regulatory readiness strategy for precision biologics in autoimmune and inflammatory disease.
Pouzol joined Anaveon in March 2025 and has since led preclinical and translational research for the company's immunology pipeline, including the progression of ANV200, a PD-1 depleting antibody, from early discovery into IND-enabling studies. The internal promotion reflects a deliberate organizational choice: continuity of scientific ownership through the IND-enabling phase, where translational strategy and regulatory alignment are tightly coupled. Eric Zanelli, Ph.D., who served as interim CSO during the transition period, provided scientific continuity ahead of the permanent appointment.
For QA directors and regulatory affairs leads, the profile matters. Pouzol brings more than 16 years spanning drug discovery, preclinical development, and clinical development support, with specific depth in immunology, autoimmunity, neuroinflammation, and biomarker strategy. Prior roles at Hoffmann-La Roche, Idorsia Pharmaceuticals, and Actelion Pharmaceuticals included advancing preclinical candidates toward IND, mechanism-based indication selection, and early clinical program support, experience directly applicable to the biologics development pathway under 21 CFR Part 312 and ICH S6/S9 preclinical frameworks.
CEO Thaminda Ramanayake cited Pouzol's expertise in moving assets from discovery to IND-enabling stages as central to her appointment, signaling that Anaveon's near-term scientific priorities are concentrated on clinical entry for ANV200 rather than pipeline expansion. Pouzol holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from University Paris-Saclay and a PharmD and MS in Safety Pharmacology from the University of Lorraine, credentials that span both the pharmacological and regulatory dimensions of biologics development.
The appointment positions Anaveon's IND submission readiness for ANV200 as the measurable near-term checkpoint against which Pouzol's scientific leadership will be assessed.
