Ascentage Pharma Appoints Faiçal Miyara As Chief Business Officer And Jim Ziegler As Chief Commercial Officer

Ascentage Pharma Group International (NASDAQ: AAPG; HKEX: 6855), a global commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative cancer therapies, has announced the appointment of Dr. Faiçal Miyara as Chief Business Officer (CBO) and Jim Ziegler as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Dr. Miyara will lead the company's global business development efforts, while Mr. Ziegler will oversee the commercialization of Ascentage Pharma's products in the United States and other markets outside China. Both executives will report directly to Chairman and CEO Dr. Dajun Yang as the company continues to expand its global presence.

Dr. Miyara brings more than 20 years of experience in oncology-focused business development across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Before joining Ascentage Pharma, he served as Chief Business Officer at IO Biotech and previously led global oncology partnering and business evaluation at Ipsen. Earlier in his career, he held senior research and development roles at Pfizer, where he helped establish the company's Center for Therapeutic Innovation, and also worked at ImClone Systems and Eli Lilly and Company, contributing to the development of FDA-approved cancer therapies such as Erbitux and Cyramza. He also holds a PhD from Sorbonne University and is the lead inventor on three patents.

Mr. Ziegler joins the company with more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He has led global commercial organizations, managed product portfolios, and supported the launch of several specialty therapies in oncology and hematology. Before joining Ascentage Pharma, he held senior commercial leadership positions at Geron, Iovance Biotherapeutics, Amgen, and Gilead Sciences. Prior to entering the pharmaceutical industry, he served as an Armor Officer in the U.S. Army and later earned an MBA from the University of Chicago after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Commenting on the appointments, Dr. Dajun Yang said Ascentage Pharma is entering a new phase of global growth as multiple registrational Phase III clinical trials continue to advance. He said adding two experienced leaders to the executive team will strengthen the company's global business development and commercial capabilities while supporting its long-term international expansion strategy.

Dr. Yang added that Dr. Miyara's extensive experience in oncology partnerships and strategic business development will help accelerate the company's global collaboration efforts. He also said Mr. Ziegler's expertise in product launches, market access, reimbursement, and building commercial organizations will play a key role as Ascentage Pharma prepares to commercialize its therapies for hematologic malignancies in global markets.
