AstraZeneca, a global leader in pharmaceuticals, has announced a significant C$820 million (US$570 million) investment in Canada. This initiative will generate over 700 high-skilled jobs and support the company’s move to a cutting-edge office facility in Ontario’s Greater Toronto Area.
This investment is part of AstraZeneca’s global strategy to achieve US$80 billion in revenue by 2030 and introduce 20 new medicines worldwide. The company, already one of Canada’s top R&D investors, has contributed over C$1.3 billion to the country’s life sciences sector since 2023. Ontario Premier Doug Ford celebrated the collaboration, highlighting the province’s role as a global life sciences hub, supported by a C$16.1 million investment from the Ontario government through Invest Ontario.
