Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., a global life science research and clinical diagnostics product manufacturer, presents the new Foresight™ Pro 45 cm ID chromatography columns. These novel columns are designed specifically for large-scale downstream process chromatography applications in biological therapeutic production. Bio-Rad’s Foresight Pro product line has been enriched by this newest design, which was created to complement the existing list of options with inner diameters from 5 to 33 cm and enable the large-scale purification of biomolecules including vaccines, antibodies, and recombinant proteins by biopharmaceutical industry participants.

These columns are unique in the market, as they are packed with a single lot of Bio-Rad's CHT Media — other suppliers may combine different batches of our resins when packing columns. Thus, Bio-Rad’s Foresight Pro Coengineered explicitly e-source solutions that provide utilisation of technical, application, and product support benefits to the biopharmaceutical industry."
The 45 cm ID Foresight Pro Column is designed for seamless integration into downstream purification workflows and is manufactured and packed in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom. These GMP-ready columns come in standardised designs across various diameters and bed heights, providing reliability and ease of use. The columns are packed with Bio-Rad’s proprietary CHT™ Ceramic Hydroxyapatite Media, available in Type I, Type II, or XT variants. CHT Media is a robust mixed-mode support material specifically engineered for biomolecule purification, utilizing its unique composition—Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2—to interact with molecules through metal affinity (calcium atoms) and cation exchange (phosphate groups).
