Cardinal Health has opened its new Advanced Therapy Innovation Center in La Vergne, Tennessee, within an 8,000-square-foot space dedicated to supporting the unique logistics demands of cell and gene therapies. This state-of-the-art facility includes deep-frozen storage, temperature-controlled shipping, and collaborative workspaces. Additionally, it offers Advanced Therapy Connect, a streamlined ordering portal, and expert consulting on market access strategies. With this significant investment, Cardinal Health strengthens its position as a top logistics partner in the cell and gene therapy sector, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of essential treatments to patients.

Fran Gregory, VP Emerging Therapies, said in a statement “The opening of this new center is a testament to the growth we have seen with cell and gene therapies and the promise of their potential to impact patients. Our investments in this space will have the potential to impact thousands of patients with rare diseases for which there are currently no or limited treatment options. We are excited to expand our capabilities to deliver treatments to patients that need them the most.”

Joel Wayment, VP/GM, 3PL Services and Packaging Solutions, also added, “Many advanced therapies require specialized handling and temperature controls through the storage and shipping process to ensure their quality, safety and efficacy. The Advanced Therapy Innovation Center will allow us to further support manufacturers – so that patients receive the treatments that they need when they need them.”
