Decoy Therapeutics Expands Global Patent Portfolio for Antiviral Technology, Strengthens Intellectual Property Around D-MAV and IMP³ACT Platform

Decoy Therapeutics has announced the continued expansion of its intellectual property portfolio, which now includes seven patent families covering its antiviral technologies. The portfolio spans compositions of matter, manufacturing methods, formulations, and the company's IMP³ACT™ design platform, strengthening the company's protection for its Designable Multi-Antivirals (D-MAVs™) technology.
The portfolio currently includes one granted U.S. patent and 19 pending patent applications across the United States, Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Japan, and New Zealand. According to the company, all patents and applications are solely owned by Decoy. The granted U.S. patent covers antiviral peptide conjugates containing D-amino acids designed to target viral spike proteins for treating infections.
"Our IP position has grown alongside the science," said Rick Pierce, Chief Executive Officer of Decoy Therapeutics. "The early filings protected our first conjugates. The newer families protect the engineered sequences our platform now designs, the methods we use to make them, and the platform itself. That progression is one of the clearest external record of how far the technology has come."
Among the pending applications are patents covering automated flow peptide synthesis methods and linker technologies used to manufacture Decoy's antiviral peptide conjugates. Additional filings protect engineered D-MAV compounds targeting conserved regions of Class I viral fusion proteins, as well as formulations and therapeutic approaches aimed at preventing viral transmission. These applications also extend to viruses such as measles, mumps, human parainfluenza virus, and Nipah virus.
Decoy has also filed a new patent application for the IMP³ACT™ platform, covering the computational design methods used to create next-generation antiviral peptides. Submitted in June 2026, the application has not yet been published. The company said the growing patent portfolio supports its strategy of advancing broad-spectrum antiviral therapies while strengthening long-term protection for its technology platform.
