Elutia Inc. has announced it will take over U.S. sales and distribution of its cardiovascular product line, which includes ProxiCor®, VasCure®, and Tyke®. This strategic move follows the end of its distribution agreement with LeMaitre Vascular, Inc., and is expected to improve gross margins and boost profitability by allowing Elutia to retain full top-line revenue from these products.
Elutia selected Dwayne Montgomery as the new business unit leader because of his extensive commercial experience at Osiris Therapeutics and Smith & Nephew. Elutia organised a team of 26 dedicated independent sales representatives to specifically promote the cardiovascular products under his leadership. This new sales force operates independently from Elutia’s existing EluPro™ team to ensure a focused and seamless transition, which has already begun.
“While we’re grateful for our partnership with LeMaitre, bringing this asset back in-house allows us to fully unlock its value,” said Dr. Randy Mills, CEO of Elutia. “Direct control over sales to the end user allows us to sharpen our execution, drive top-line growth, improve profitability and cash flow, and gives us greater strategic flexibility. Under Dwayne’s leadership, the team has already made impressive progress—and we’re just getting started.
Elutia anticipates strong financial performance from its cardiovascular line, which delivered $2.9 million in 2024 and is expected to achieve 80% gross margins. The products in this portfolio are biologically derived, offering regenerative benefits and avoiding foreign body reactions typically seen with synthetic grafts. Key products include ProxiCor® for pericardial and cardiac tissue repair, VasCure® for vascular repair, and Tyke®, the only extracellular matrix product cleared for use in neonatal and infant heart repairs.
