Freudenberg Medical Launches High-Tech Single-Use Biopharma Products

Freudenberg Medical has broadened its biopharma product range by introducing custom single-use assemblies. This new addition leverages the company's proficiency in silicone extrusion and molding, offering products such as single-use y-connector manifolds, tubing assemblies, and bottle cap assemblies with multiple inlets and outlets.

Specifically, bottle cap assemblies with y-connector tubing are frequently employed in laboratory or cGMP bioprocesses for essential fluid transfer tasks. All assemblies are manufactured in cleanrooms and tailored to meet customer specifications.

Y-connector overmolds are designed to maintain an unobstructed flow in critical fluid paths and eliminate leaks commonly associated with standard fluid couplings, fittings, and connectors. The validated production processes ensure consistent and reliable over-molding of y-manifolds on customer-specified tube ends.

These new solutions enhance the existing PharmaFocus line, which includes high-purity, platinum-cured silicone tubing and sanitary ends for single-use systems. Freudenberg’s products, including tubing, molded components, and systems, are used in various applications such as bioprocessing, biotechnology, laboratory processes, GMP manufacturing, small batch processes, cell and gene therapy, and the production of mRNA, biosimilars, and regenerative proteins.
