Geron Corporation appoints Chinmaya Rath as Chief Business Officer, adding 25+ years of hematology and oncology leadership to support RYTELO's global expansion in myelodysplastic syndromes.

Geron Corporation has appointed Chinmaya Rath as its new Chief Business Officer, strengthening the company's commercial and strategic leadership team as it continues expanding its presence in the blood cancer market. The appointment brings decades of global biopharmaceutical experience to the commercial-stage company.
Mr. Rath joins Geron with more than 25 years of leadership experience across the U.S. and international biopharma sectors. He spent a significant part of his career at Novartis, where he held roles of increasing responsibility and led several major strategic initiatives, including supporting the integration of GSK Oncology and Alcon into the organization.
“Chinmaya is an experienced business development leader who will bring strategic insights and further executional focus to our team,” said Harout Semerjian, President and Chief Executive Officer of Geron. “His appointment underscores our continued dedication to maximizing the value of RYTELO across the globe and evaluating opportunistic innovation to build a leading hematology company.”
Most recently, he served as Head of Pharma Solutions at Cellworks and previously held the role of Chief Business Officer at GlycoMimetics. His experience also includes serving as Founder and CEO of CelluRx and as Vice President of Innovation and Strategic Alliances at Omega Therapeutics. Throughout his career, he has contributed to major oncology product launches in both hematology and solid tumors, including initiatives involving Tasigna® and Lynparza®.

In addition to his operational leadership roles, Mr. Rath currently serves as a Venture Partner at Social Impact Capital, representing the firm on the board of Catena Biosciences and as a board observer at Menten AI. He holds MBA degrees from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom and the Army Institute of Management Studies in India, and earned his undergraduate degree in Life Science from Ravenshaw University.
