Gland Pharma Announces Shyamakant Giri as New Chief Executive Officer

Gland Pharma's board has officially appointed Shyamakant Giri as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 15, 2025. Giri brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, and healthcare sectors, having worked in major Indian and global companies across Asia, Africa, MENA, and LATAM.

Known for his ability to drive business growth and lead strategic initiatives, Giri excels in business development, operations, product marketing, and turning around struggling ventures. His career includes key roles at Amneal Pharmaceuticals, where he currently serves as President of India Business & Emerging Markets, as well as previous positions at Rivaara Labs, Abbott India, AbbVie, and Wockhardt Ltd.

Giri’s academic background includes a Master’s in Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and a Master’s in Organic Chemistry from Mumbai University, along with executive education at INSEAD and IIM Ahmedabad. While Giri takes on the CEO role, current Executive Chairman Srinivas Sadu will remain in his position to guide the company through its next growth phase.
