Greenbrook Opens Largest Mental Wellness Center to Expand Advanced Depression Treatment

Neuronetics, Inc. has announced the grand opening of the Greenbrook Mental Wellness Centers' National Center of Excellence in Rockville, Maryland. Overseen by Neuronetics Chief Medical Officer Geoffrey Grammer, M.D., the nearly 7,000-square-foot facility is the largest Greenbrook center to date and represents a major investment in the future of interventional psychiatry. The center is intended to serve as a national model for delivering advanced, patient-focused mental health care.

The new facility has been designed to expand access to advanced psychiatric treatments, support clinical innovation, and improve outcomes for patients whose depression and other mental health conditions have not responded adequately to first-line therapies. As Greenbrook's largest location, the Rockville center is equipped to handle high-volume NeuroStar TMS and SPRAVATO® treatments and is REMS-certified for advanced treatment delivery.

“The Rockville Center of Excellence is more than a new facility; it is a blueprint for the future of interventional psychiatry,” said Cory Anderson, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Greenbrook Mental Wellness Centers. “By bringing together clinical innovation, advanced treatment options, and a patient-centered model of care, we are building a scalable approach to delivering interventional psychiatry and positioning Greenbrook to lead the field with the launch of innovative new treatment modalities.”

Dr. Grammer provides clinical leadership at the Center of Excellence, drawing on his experience in interventional psychiatry and managing multidisciplinary care teams. Alongside his executive responsibilities, he continues to see patients at the facility. The center offers NeuroStar Advanced Therapy, a TMS treatment for major depressive disorder in adults and adolescents aged 15 and older, as well as an FDA-cleared indication for adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It also provides SPRAVATO (esketamine) nasal spray for eligible patients with treatment-resistant depression or major depressive disorder with suicidal ideation.

“Treatment-resistant depression remains one of the most urgent challenges in mental health care,” said Dr. Geoffrey Grammer. “The Rockville Center of Excellence will serve as Greenbrook’s National Center for Clinical Innovation and Research, providing the clinical infrastructure needed to expand access to advanced interventional treatments, evaluate emerging therapies, and continue improving patient-centered psychiatric care.”

The Rockville facility will also serve as Greenbrook's National Center for Clinical Innovation and Research, acting as a pilot location for emerging treatment approaches before they are potentially introduced across the broader network. Its specialized infrastructure could also allow Greenbrook to assess and, subject to FDA approval, incorporate emerging psychedelic-class therapies into its future mental health care model.
