Medicus Pharma has appointed Faisal Mehmud, MD, MRCP, as the Chief Executive Officer of Antev Limited, its UK subsidiary, effective August 30, 2026. Dr. Mehmud will continue serving as Chief Medical Officer of Medicus and Co-Chairman of Antev, providing unified scientific, clinical, regulatory, and operational leadership as the company advances the development of Teverelix® for advanced prostate cancer, acute urinary retention, and women's health indications.
The appointment is intended to strengthen Medicus' integrated leadership structure by bringing Antev's scientific, clinical, and regulatory functions under a single experienced pharmaceutical executive. The company is preparing Teverelix® for late-stage clinical development, regulatory engagements, and strategic partnering activities, making the leadership transition an important step in its global development strategy.
“We are delighted to appoint Faisal as Chief Executive Officer of Antev in addition to his role as Co-Chairman of Antev’s Board of Directors,” stated Dr. Raza Bokhari, Medicus Executive Chairman and CEO. “Since joining Medicus as Chief Medical Officer, Faisal has become an integral member of our executive leadership team. His more than 20 years of global pharmaceutical leadership experience, deep understanding of Teverelix® and experience leading global clinical development, regulatory and medical organizations position him well to lead Antev through its next phase of clinical development and execution of corporate mandates.”
Dr. Mehmud succeeds Amit Kohli, who has served as interim CEO of Antev since the company's acquisition by Medicus in August 2025. Kohli remained with the business for a year to support the integration process, oversee operational continuity, and ensure a smooth transition of development programs and key stakeholder relationships following the acquisition.
With more than 20 years of global biopharmaceutical leadership experience, Dr. Mehmud has held senior positions at Pfizer, GSK, Bristol Myers Squibb, Novartis, and Sanofi. His expertise spans clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory strategy, pharmacovigilance, and precision medicine, supporting the development and commercialization of innovative therapies across multiple disease areas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cambridge, completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in the UK, and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).
