Olon Confirms Timeline for Rodano Facility

Olon, a global player in active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) development and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has confirmed the timeline for its new facility in Rodano (Milan) dedicated to ultra-potent compounds. The installation of a Small Scale Production Area has been completed, with large-scale production set to finish by January 2025. This advanced facility, which includes a dedicated quality control department and specialized storage for active ingredients, will enable safer handling of highly active molecules, minimizing contamination risks.

Marcello Buson, Olon’s Head of Global Operations, highlighted the facility's innovative design, which incorporates both production and quality control areas within the same structure. The site will also feature sophisticated purification and isolation systems, supported by a wide range of analytical instruments. The investment of 25 million euros announced in May 2023 emphasizes Olon’s commitment to advancing its capabilities in handling highly potent APIs.

The project includes the construction of an additional building that will house production, quality control, research and development, and auxiliary facilities. This strategic expansion positions Olon to meet the growing demand for ultra-potent compounds while enhancing its operational efficiency.
