Onconetix Acquisition Target Realbotix Secures UK Pilot Deal with Bloom for Humanoid Care Robots

Before Onconetix, Inc. closes its pending acquisition of Realbotix LLC, the target company is already generating commercial traction in the UK public sector — a development that will factor into how QA and regulatory teams at the combined entity frame product deployment governance post-close. Realbotix has announced a partnership with Bloom Procurement Services, a UK public sector procurement specialist, to deploy socially assistive humanoid robots in care settings across Northeast England.

The pilot is structured as an evidence-based program, evaluating resident engagement, cognitive health indicators, staff feedback, and measurable impact on loneliness and quality of life among elderly residents. Robots are designed to provide companionship, cognitive stimulation, emotional support, and routine wellbeing check-ins, explicitly positioned as a supplement to human caregivers rather than a replacement. The program's framing as evidence-based signals an intent to generate data suitable for future regulatory or commissioning submissions in the UK public sector.

On the procurement side, Realbotix has been accredited as a supplier on Bloom's public sector marketplace, establishing a compliant procurement route for UK public sector organizations to access the technology. That accreditation carries structural weight: it removes a procurement barrier that would otherwise slow adoption across NHS-adjacent and local authority care settings, and it creates a replicable commercial pathway ahead of any broader rollout.

The acquisition context remains material for industry observers. As announced on February 12, 2026, Onconetix entered into a definitive share exchange agreement to acquire 100% of the equity interests of Realbotix LLC in an all-stock transaction. Closing is anticipated in the second half of 2026, subject to Onconetix shareholder approval, required regulatory approvals, and other customary closing conditions. Onconetix intends to file a Registration Statement on Form S-4 with the SEC in connection with the transaction.

Onconetix itself remains a commercial-stage oncology company, holding the Proclarix® in vitro diagnostic for prostate cancer, approved for sale in the European Union under the IVDR and anticipated for US marketing as a lab developed test through a license agreement with Labcorp. The Realbotix acquisition would represent a significant pivot in the company's technology portfolio.

The pilot's outcome data, expected to capture both resident-level and operational metrics, will serve as an early indicator of whether humanoid robotics can meet the evidentiary standards UK public sector commissioners require before committing to scaled procurement.
