QuVa Pharma, Inc. ("QuVa") has announced its
acquisition of LogicStream Health, Inc. ("LogicStream"), a
Minneapolis-based SaaS platform that offers cloud-based intelligence for
healthcare system pharmacies. LogicStream's machine learning and predictive
analytics provide essential insights to help customers address complex issues
such as drug shortages. LogicStream will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of
QuVa.
This merger creates an advanced platform that integrates
QuVa’s nationwide sterile compounding services and distribution capabilities
with LogicStream’s innovative clinical process improvements, drug shortage
predictive analytics, management workflow, and drug diversion detection.
As the largest 503B outsourcing company for U.S. hospitals
and health systems, QuVa can now offer its customers unmatched support by
leveraging data and insights for early drug shortage detection, efficient
formulary management, and peer health system benchmarking. The acquisition was
financed by Blue Owl Capital.
Stuart Hinchen, QuVa's co-founder and CEO, emphasized the
company’s commitment to solving pharmacy concerns for their customers, stating
that combining smart data analytics with high-quality ready-to-administer
medications is key to enhancing patient safety and achieving sustained cost
reductions.
Lynn Eschenbacher, PharmD and Chief Pharmacy & Strategy
Officer, along with Mike Scouvart, Chief Commercial Officer, noted that QuVa's
extensive purchasing experience will enhance LogicStream’s predictive analytics
for drug shortage management, benefiting over 3,000 hospitals and clinics by
allowing them to compare and benchmark formulary guidelines and management
activities.
LogicStream’s platform uses advanced AI models to analyze
clinical data, providing insights into drug utilization trends, drug shortages,
diversion behavior, and patient outcomes. This helps health systems make
informed decisions, reduce costs, and improve compliance and outcomes.
Patrick Yoder, PharmD and CEO of LogicStream, highlighted
the potential for technology to improve patient outcomes while increasing
efficiency. He expressed enthusiasm about joining QuVa and the opportunities to
enhance health system pharmacy management and operations through innovative
insights and software solutions.
