Rose Hill Life Sciences Appoints Biopharma Veteran Jama Pitman As CEO To Lead Psilocybin Therapy Development

Rose Hill Life Sciences, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing psychedelic-based therapies for neurological and psychiatric disorders, has appointed Jama Pitman as its Chief Executive Officer. Pitman joined the company as a Strategic Advisor in May 2025 and has played a key role in shaping its clinical development strategy, regulatory planning, and commercialization efforts. As CEO, she will lead Rose Hill's operations as the company advances its growing portfolio of psilocybin-based treatment programs.

Pitman brings more than 25 years of experience in the global biopharmaceutical industry, with expertise in regulatory strategy, drug development, FDA approvals, IPO preparation, and corporate transactions. She previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals, where she helped transform the company from a privately held biotech into a global multi-product organization that was later acquired in a $2.4 billion deal. She is also the founder of JP BioPharma Consulting, where she advises biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies on accelerating product development and achieving business growth.

Commenting on her appointment, Pitman said Rose Hill is at an important stage of its growth, with multiple clinical programs underway and increasing scientific evidence supporting the potential of psilocybin in treating conditions with significant unmet medical needs. She said she looks forward to leading the company as it executes its clinical, regulatory, and commercial strategy while advancing innovative therapies for patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Rose Hill is currently advancing several research programs focused on the therapeutic potential of psilocybin. These include a stroke recovery program through an exclusive licensing agreement with Johns Hopkins University to restore motor function after neurological injury, as well as clinical research on psilocybin-assisted therapy for depression in collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Psychedelic Science. The company is also conducting preclinical research exploring psilocybin as a potential treatment for autism spectrum disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Supporting these programs is Rose Hill's proprietary formulation and manufacturing platform, including novel lipid-based delivery technologies designed to improve bioavailability and enable precise dosing of pharmaceutical-grade psilocybin.

Tabaac of the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, and psychedelic researcher Dr. Rotem Petranker, Director of the Canadian Centre for Psychedelic Science.
