RxSight Appoints Aziz Mottiwala As President And CEO In Planned Leadership Transition

RxSight, Inc. has announced a planned leadership transition that will take effect on July 20, 2026. Aziz Mottiwala has been appointed as the company's new President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Ron Kurtz, M.D. Dr. Kurtz will continue to serve as Chief Medical Officer, where he will remain focused on advancing the company's technology and clinical innovation. As part of the transition, Dr. Kurtz will step down from the Board of Directors, and Mr. Mottiwala will join the Board.

Aziz Mottiwala brings extensive leadership experience in the eye care industry, particularly in building and expanding commercial organizations. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at Tarsus Pharmaceuticals and previously held the same position at Opiant Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, he spent more than ten years at Allergan, where he held several senior leadership roles across the company's eye care business and broader commercial operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Commenting on his appointment, Mottiwala said he is honored to join RxSight during an important stage of its growth. He noted that the company has developed a differentiated technology platform with significant future potential and believes its adjustable vision technology is bringing greater precision and personalization to cataract surgery. He also emphasized that the adoption of adjustable intraocular lens technology is still in its early stages, creating substantial opportunities for future expansion.

Andy Corley, Chairman of the RxSight Board of Directors, said Mottiwala's deep commercial and operational expertise in ophthalmology makes him well positioned to lead the company through its next phase of growth. He also thanked Dr. Kurtz for his leadership in establishing adjustability as an important advancement in cataract surgery and expressed confidence that his continued role as Chief Medical Officer will support the company's efforts to expand the clinical applications of its technology.
