Sanara MedTech Secures Vizient Innovative Technology Contract For Its BIASURGE® Advanced Surgical Solution

Sanara MedTech Inc., a medical technology company dedicated to developing and commercializing advanced solutions that improve clinical outcomes and reduce healthcare costs in the surgical field, announced that its BIASURGE Advanced Surgical Solution has been awarded an Innovative Technology contract by Vizient Inc., the largest provider-driven healthcare performance improvement company in the United States. The contract was granted based on recommendations from hospital experts who participate on Vizient’s client-led councils and reflects BIASURGE’s unique capabilities and potential value to the healthcare industry.

Vizient awards Innovative Technology contracts after its client-led councils review products submitted through the organization’s Innovative Technology Program. These councils evaluate solutions that may enhance clinical care, patient safety, healthcare worker safety, or overall operational efficiency within healthcare institutions.

Seth Yon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sanara MedTech, expressed appreciation for the recognition, noting that the recommendation from hospital experts underscores the differentiated nature of BIASURGE. He explained that the product’s no-rinse irrigation design allows surgeons to cleanse wound beds more efficiently than with saline, while its antimicrobial preservative offers broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity as part of the irrigation solution.

Mr. Yon also highlighted the value this contract brings to Vizient’s extensive network of healthcare facilities. Beginning January 1, 2026, Vizient customers will have access to BIASURGE under contracted pricing and pre-negotiated terms. He added that the company looks forward to working with Vizient’s clients to introduce BIASURGE and raise awareness about its potential to improve the management and treatment of surgical wounds.

Commenting on the decision, Kelly Flaharty, Associate Vice President of Contract Operations at Vizient, stated that after reviewing BIASURGE, Vizient’s client-led council determined that the technology offers a unique benefit compared to available alternatives and recommended it for the Innovative Technology contract. She expressed satisfaction in awarding the contract to Sanara.

Vizient serves a wide range of healthcare organizations, including academic medical centers, pediatric hospitals, community facilities, integrated delivery networks, and non-acute providers. Representing more than $156 billion in annual purchasing volume, the organization works closely with its client-led councils through the Innovative Technology Program to assess products that can introduce meaningful advancements to clinical care and healthcare operations. Products deemed innovative may receive contracts outside the standard competitive bidding process.
