Stipple Bio Appoints Roland Gendron As Chief Business Officer To Accelerate Oncology Growth Strategy

Stipple Bio, Inc. has appointed Roland Gendron as its Chief Business Officer as the private biotechnology company advances its precision oncology pipeline and prepares to move its lead candidate, STP-100, into clinical studies. In his new role, Gendron will lead the company's corporate and business development, strategic partnerships, alliance management, and corporate strategy initiatives while working closely with the executive team to expand Stipple Bio's oncology pipeline.

Gendron brings more than 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with expertise spanning corporate development, business development, pipeline strategy, and research collaborations. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Business Development and Alliance Management at Merus, where he led strategic partnerships for the company's lead Phase III oncology program before its acquisition by Genmab. He previously held senior leadership positions at Bluejay Therapeutics, Gilead Sciences, CytomX Therapeutics, and Seagen, contributing to major business development initiatives and strategic transactions that collectively generated more than $30 billion in value.

Announcing the appointment, Chief Executive Officer Jeff Landau said Gendron's combination of scientific expertise, strategic vision, and transaction experience will play an important role as Stipple Bio advances STP-100 and expands its pipeline. He added that Gendron's experience in building oncology portfolios and establishing value-creating partnerships will help accelerate the company's growth and maximize the potential of its proprietary Pointillist Platform.

Commenting on his appointment, Gendron said Stipple Bio's Pointillist Platform has the potential to identify tumor-specific cell surface epitopes that could enable the development of highly targeted cancer therapies. He added that he looks forward to helping shape the company's long-term strategy and supporting the development of innovative treatments for patients with difficult-to-treat cancers.

Founded in 2022, Stipple Bio is developing precision oncology therapies using its proprietary platform to identify tumor-specific targets. Earlier this year, the company announced a $100 million Series A financing co-led by RA Capital, a16z Bio + Health, and Nextech Invest to support the advancement of its pipeline and future clinical development
