Swissport Expands Certified Pharma Logistics Network
Swissport gains GDP certification for its Madrid & Barcelona pharma hubs, boosting logistics.

Swissport recently became Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certified for pharmaceutical handling at its cargo facilities in Madrid (MAD) and Barcelona (BCN). The company posted on LinkedIn that this strengthens its pharmaceutical logistics market position.
“This certification highlights our commitment to the safe handling, storage, and transportation of medicines and active ingredients, ensuring product integrity and quality at every stage of the supply chain. With GDP certification, we meet the highest industry standards, offering our customers the peace of mind that their pharmaceutical shipments are managed with the utmost care and reliability,” said Swissport.
The company has 23 GDP-certified pharma hubs around the globe as it recently opened its new MAD and BCN centres. In June, Swissport launched a new "Cool+Connect" pharma facility at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse to streamline shipments and cut truck transport. Swissport's cargo centre at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) also renewed its IATA CEIV Pharma certification in June, adding even more points of strength for pharma logistics.
