Assistant Professor
Dr. Bajarang Kumbhar is a distinguished computational structural biologist specializing in the study of drug resistance mechanisms within various cancerous cells. Currently an Assistant Professor at SVKM's NMIMS University, he brings extensive expertise in computational structural biology, CAR design, structure-based drug discovery, and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. His research experience encompasses cutting-edge techniques such as protein homology modeling, molecular docking, and MD simulations, aimed at understanding and tackling the molecular basis of cancer drug resistance. Dr. Kumbhar has a strong foundation in bioinformatics and computational tools, leveraging advanced software like GROMACS and AMBER for molecular simulations and Gaussian for energy calculations.
With a robust background that includes a postdoctoral fellowship at IIT Bombay, Dr. Kumbhar has made significant contributions to the field, especially in cancer research focusing on cell signaling, microtubule dynamics, and potential anticancer targets. His academic journey is complemented by a Ph.D. in Computational Biochemistry and a master’s degree in Biochemistry from Shivaji University, where he developed foundational skills in computational methods and molecular modeling. Dr. Kumbhar’s dedication to scientific research and education positions him as a vital contributor to advancements in drug discovery and biopharmaceutical sciences.
