Takeda Names FleishmanHillard Veteran As New Global Branding Head

Takeda is set to welcome Anne de Schweinitz, a communications veteran with over 20 years of experience, as the new leader of their global brand strategy. According to a Takeda representative, de Schweinitz will take on the role of Head of Global Corporate Brand and Content, reporting directly to Joao Belo, the company’s Head of Global Communications. The spokesperson expressed enthusiasm about de Schweinitz joining the team, noting, “We are all excited for Anne to join our Global Communications team and look forward to working with her.”

PRWeek initially broke the news of the new appointment, referencing an internal company memo that indicated Anne de Schweinitz will start on September 9. The memo, detailed in a report on Thursday, outlined her responsibilities, which include overseeing Takeda’s comprehensive brand strategy. This encompasses reputation management, brand oversight, corporate marketing, enterprise storytelling, and the company's social media and digital platforms.

Anne de Schweinitz brings over 25 years of experience from various PR agencies to her new role at Takeda. For the past 13 years, she has been with FleishmanHillard, where she most recently served as Global Managing Director of the Health and Life Sciences practice, holding a senior VP and senior partner position. Prior to FleishmanHillard, de Schweinitz held prominent leadership positions at Hill & Knowlton, Big Arrow Group, and MS&L, which became MSL following its 2009 merger with Publicis Consultants.

On Thursday, de Schweinitz shared a reflective post on LinkedIn, expressing appreciation for her experiences at FleishmanHillard while eagerly anticipating her upcoming role.

She wrote, “I’m very excited to let everyone know that I will be joining the fantastic group at Takeda in early September to head up their Global Corporate Brand and Content team. I can’t wait to dig in and get started. Thank you to the team at Takeda for taking the leap and selecting me for the role!”

She continued, “I’ve enjoyed an incredible 13+ year run at FleishmanHillard and have deep admiration for the people and work we’ve done. It’s not easy to leave but new adventures beckon. Thank you to everyone for your friendship, support, and camaraderie over the years!”
