Lonza Expands Bend Facility for Enhanced Clinical Bottling and Labeling

Global pharmaceutical, biotech, and nutraceutical partner Lonza has increased the capacity of its Bend, Oregon facility for clinical bottling and labelling. The new technology can identify faults in tablets and capsules, clean, fill, cap and seal, and label bottles for early-phase clinical studies. Lonza is able to expedite product delivery to clinical trial centres as a result.
The new bottling equipment, according to Matthew Ferguson, Senior Director, Product Development, Small Molecules, Lonza, will help clients who want to move their candidate route through phase I and II clinical trials and beyond more quickly. Clinical and commercial development as well as manufacturing are supported by Lonza's Drug Product Formulation and Development Services.
