SCHOTT Pharma, a provider of drug containment solutions and delivery systems, has introduced an innovative nest design for prefillable polymer syringes. This new nest can accommodate 160 syringes, a notable 60% increase from the traditional nest capacity of 100 syringes, all without changing the nest's dimensions. With the new nest, pharmaceutical companies can fill a substantially higher number of syringes per hour within the same cycle time. This advancement enables them to enhance efficiency by up to 67%, significantly cut manufacturing costs, and reduce the product carbon footprint (PCF) by 17%, according to SCHOTT Pharma.

Andreas Resses, CEO of SCHOTT Pharma, “Through this step, we are actively addressing one of the main levers to improve the costs of pharma companies and reorganizing their value chain. This innovation is a testament to our engineering expertise and with it, we’re enabling pharma manufacturers to meet their needs for efficiency, sustainability, and compliance, while ensuring uncompromised quality. We have received positive feedback from the market so far and first customers are already planning to implement the new product.”
