VIVUS LLC, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and delivering innovative treatments for patients with significant unmet medical needs, has announced that its weight loss medication, QSYMIA® (phentermine and topiramate extended-release capsules CIV), is now available through the Costco Member Prescription Program at Costco Pharmacies nationwide. A prescription is required to obtain the medication.

This expansion into the Costco Member Prescription Program reflects VIVUS’s continued efforts to improve access to QSYMIA by offering patients additional convenient options to fill their prescriptions. In addition to being available through certified retail pharmacies and mail-order services, QSYMIA can now be obtained at Costco with a 30-day supply priced at $115.00.

John Amos, Chief Executive Officer at VIVUS LLC, stated, “Making Qsymia more affordable for Costco Members is an important step toward reducing barriers to care for the millions of Americans struggling with overweight or obesity. Our goal is to make safe, effective treatment more accessible and affordable. This partnership allows us to reach patients where they already shop, supporting both convenience and continuity in their weight management journey.”

QSYMIA is currently the leading non-injectable branded weight loss medication in the United States for adults. It combines phentermine, an appetite suppressant, with topiramate, a medication that influences appetite and satiety. QSYMIA is approved for use in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help reduce excess weight in adults and in certain pediatric patients aged 12 years and older. This new distribution channel through Costco aims to further support patients in managing their weight by making treatment more accessible and affordable.
