Recursion recently unveiled OpenPhenom-S/16, an advanced foundation model for microscopy data analysis, now available in Google Cloud's Vertex AI Model Garden. Designed to help life sciences researchers process and analyze complex imaging data, OpenPhenom-S/16 utilizes over three million microscopy images to outperform traditional workflows, eliminating the need for additional tuning. With applications in drug discovery, cellular structure classification, and pattern detection, this model supports researchers in advancing discoveries in biology and biomedicine more efficiently.
In tandem, Recursion also released the RxRx3-core dataset, an extensive phenomics dataset that includes image embeddings and biological associations between genes and small molecules. This dataset provides researchers with a valuable resource to investigate drug mechanisms and interactions, further enabling breakthroughs in high-dimensional biological data and phenomics. Through these tools, Recursion aims to democratize cutting-edge microscopy analysis, paving the way for enhanced biomedical research and discovery.
