Alkem MedTech, a branch of Alkem Laboratories, has struck a deal with the international medical device firm Exactech to produce and distribute joint replacement implants in India. This partnership will allow Alkem MedTech to handle the manufacturing and marketing of Exactech’s knee and hip replacement products within the Indian market. Under this agreement, Alkem MedTech will gain access to Exactech’s advanced design and manufacturing capabilities, as well as the rights to market their brands in India, including Alteon, AcuMatch, Novation, Optetrak Logic, and Truliant.

Alkem MedTech CEO Kaustav Banerjee said in a statement, “The agreement between Alkem MedTech and Exactech represents a significant step forward for manufacturing medical devices in India. It aligns with the Government of India’s mission to promote the end-to-end manufacturing of high-precision medical devices within the country.”
