Baxter International Inc. today announced the launch of the Welch Allyn Connex 360 Vital Signs Monitor, a next-generation patient monitoring device designed to enhance workflow efficiency, connectivity, and security in healthcare settings. The innovation marks a major step forward in Baxter’s connected monitoring portfolio, providing customizable configurations, automated documentation, and upgrade capabilities for future enhancements.
Connex 360 is designed to capture vital signs for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood oxygen levels, in less than one minute. The device automatically sends data to the electronic medical record (EMR), helping reduce manual entry errors while ensuring clinicians have timely, accurate, and secure information for informed decision-making.
“There is nothing more important than keeping patients safe, especially when time is of the essence. Care teams rely on vital signs monitoring to help detect changes in their patients’ conditions and make informed decisions. With Connex 360, we are advancing patient monitoring to provide care teams with the timely insights they need at the bedside, so they can make the most of every moment with their patients,” said Julie Foster, president of Front Line Care at Baxter.
The system is powered by Baxter’s DeviceBridge cloud-based platform, which enables accurate data transfer, secure access, and interoperability across hospital IT systems. Connex 360 also includes end-to-end encryption, customizable Early Warning Score protocols, intuitive navigation via Baxter’s largest colour touchscreen, and streamlined software upgrade pathways, easing IT burdens and future-proofing the device.
Building on Hillrom’s and Welch Allyn’s legacy in patient monitoring, Baxter continues to expand its portfolio of connected solutions. With FDA 510(k) clearance, Connex 360 is now available for hospitals and health systems across the U.S., reinforcing Baxter’s commitment to advancing patient monitoring technology in both inpatient and outpatient care environments.
