Galapagos NV announced that Tania Philipp has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective March 4, 2026. In her new role, Ms. Philipp will also become a member of the company’s Management Committee. She succeeds Annelies Missotten, who will continue working with Galapagos until June 30, 2026, to help ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Ms. Philipp brings close to 30 years of experience as a senior human resources leader, particularly within the life sciences sector. Throughout her career, she has supported organizations in aligning their workforce strategies with broader corporate goals, helping companies build strong cultures and navigate key stages of growth and transformation.

Before joining Galapagos, Ms. Philipp most recently worked as an Executive Human Resources Consultant at Vor Bio. Prior to that, she spent several years at the company as Chief People Officer and Vice President, Head of People, where she supported the organization during important phases of its development. Earlier in her career, she held several senior HR leadership positions across the life sciences industry. These roles included Vice President of Human Resources at Tango Therapeutics, as well as senior HR positions at Bavarian Nordic and other biotechnology organizations.

Ms. Philipp holds a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of the Pacific and also attended Hollins University. Her background in organizational leadership and human resources management has positioned her to help guide companies through periods of change while strengthening workplace culture and employee engagement.

Henry Gosebruch, Chief Executive Officer of Galapagos, welcomed Ms. Philipp to the company and highlighted the experience she brings to the leadership team. He noted that her ability to develop strong organizational cultures within early-stage life sciences companies undergoing transformation will be particularly valuable as Galapagos continues its strategic evolution. According to Gosebruch, Ms. Philipp will play an important role in building a high-performing and purpose-driven culture focused on delivering meaningful medicines to patients.

Gosebruch also expressed appreciation for the contributions of Annelies Missotten, who previously served as the company’s CHRO. He thanked her for her leadership and dedication during her time at Galapagos and said the company is grateful that she will remain involved for several more months to support the ongoing transition and help maintain continuity as the organization continues executing its transformation strategy.

Commenting on her new role, Ms. Philipp said she is excited to join Galapagos during a significant stage in the company’s development. She said she looks forward to working closely with the leadership team to further strengthen the company’s culture and ensure that the organization is well positioned to implement its strategy and create meaningful value for both patients and shareholders. With this leadership appointment, Galapagos continues to focus on strengthening its management team as it works to advance its mission of developing innovative treatments and bringing important new medicines to patients.
