With great pleasure, Ingenza, a leader in industrial
biotech, announces that it will be working with Cellugy to quicken the
development of its cutting-edge biofabricated cellulose production platform.
Starting with personal care, this technology will offer a viable substitute for
petrochemicals derived from fossil fuels in a variety of industrial uses. In
the end, the new initiative will quicken our comprehension and refinement of
bacterial cellulose manufacturing.
In order to reduce dependency on petrochemicals for a safer
and healthier world, Denmark-based start-up Cellugy was founded in 2018 with
the goal of creating high-performance, entirely bio-based, and biodegradable
products using the power of cellulose-producing microbes. Through this
partnership, Cellugy will be able to take use of Ingenza's vast expertise
studying a variety of microorganisms. The primary goal of the cooperation is to
determine the critical elements influencing the pathway leading to the creation
of cellulose by applying various methodologies. Cellugy will receive priceless
knowledge from this effort that will help them create focused strategies that
will increase cellulose productivity and yield, opening the door to success and
commercial feasibility.
"We are thrilled to join forces with Cellugy to explore
strategies for improving bacterial cellulose production," said Cristina
Serrano, Senior Scientist at Ingenza. As scientists, we view this initiative as
an exciting chance to engage with a novel organism, demonstrating Ingenza's
potential and furthering our ever-expanding body of technological knowledge.
